Thirteen percussion and woodwind students from the Fine Arts Center were honored with the extraordinary opportunity to perform alongside counterparts from Furman University, North Greenville University, and other musicians from around the country in the premier of John Luther Adams' composition, "Inuksuit." The work, commissioned by a consortium lead by Furman University Associate Professor of Percussion, Dr. Omar Carmenates, was rehearsed on Thursday, April 15 at Furman University and then performed the afternoon of April 16 in the area near the amphitheater (near the lake). Performed completely out of doors, "Inuksuit" evolved over the course of an hour, encompassing and becoming a part of the physical environment around Furman.

Students Participating include Moses Andrews, McKenzie Chalak, Merritt Huff, Robert Mullis, Zach Purdun, Wesley Strasser, Amber Tepedino, Audrey Hamilton, Nathan Matthews, Trevor McCurdy, Richard McDonald, Malcolm McMillan, and Kylon Tyner. Accompanying images of Malcolm McMillan, Audrey Hamilton, and Merritt Huff were taken during the Thursday afternoon rehearsal.
