GCYO Musicians Sweep Crescent Music Club Scholarship Auditions

Students of the Greenville County Youth Orchestra swept all the awards at the recent Orchestral Instrument Scholarship Competition sponsored by the Crescent Music Club. First place and a $900 scholarship went to Aubrey Elliott (harp, pictured); second place and a $450 scholarship went to Seth Russell (cello); third place and a $150 scholarship went to Andrew Jacobi (clarinet). Additionally, three students were recognized with an Honorable Mention. They were Sara Rogers (violin), Josh Caprell (percussion) and Lydia Minnick (viola).

The Greenville County Youth Orchestra and The Philharmonic are now accepting applications from students who wish to audition for the 2007-2008 season.
