FAC Drummers Score for Summer Scholarships

Fine Arts Center percussion students Ben Tomlinson (Riverside) , David Katilius (JL Mann) , and Josh Caprell (Southside Christian) will study at renowned music programs this summer. And as a result of competitive auditions, each will attend with a substantial scholarship. Ben and David will attend the Sewanee Summer Music Festival (Sewanee, Tennessee) where they will study with Frank Shaffer, Principal Timpanist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Associate Professor of Percussion at the University of Memphis. Josh will return to the Brevard Music Center (Brevard, N.C.) where he will study with Timothy Adams, Principal Tympanist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Associate Professor of Music, at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as Conrad Alexander, Assistant Professor of Percussion at Ithaca College.
