Classes Begin August 20th!
Percussionist Wesley Strasser is one of twenty-eight students who will attend Fine Arts Center Percussion and Winds & Brass classes starting August 20th, and one of over fifty individually auditioned young artist musicians who will comprise FAC's Orchestra-in-Residence, Greenville County Youth Orchestra. Students attending these classes will be expected to "hit the ground running." GCYO members have had music for their opening cluster of rehearsals (8/21, 8/23, and 8/24) since June, and are busily preparing for the opening downbeat and internal placement auditions. Percussion I, Percussion II, Advanced Percussion and Winds & Brass class members should begin obtaining the books and supplies needed to make a productive start in August. To the right of this post you will find hyperlinks for Percussion I, Percussion II, Advanced Percussion, and Winds & Brass Class. Please open and read the one that pertains to your class. Like me, I think you will be excited to see what's in store for you at the Fine Arts Center in the coming school year. Percussion players, however, will need to come to class with the correct books, sticks & mallets, and accessories. Winds & Brass players need to have metronomes and tuners. These are all worthwhile items that my students will enjoy owning and will benefit from for years to come. GAR
